PCBC Committee Members

 

President_Jonathan Ross

The President is responsible, along with the respective Captains for both men's and women's side of Pembroke rowing. He co-ordinates with college, the "Friends of PCBC" alumni society and is responsible along with the Treasurer for overseeing major expenditures. He is also Water Safety Advisor.

Jonathan is a 2nd year chemist who learnt to row at King's College School Wimbledon. He competed at Eights 2007 as M1 came agonisingly close to reclaiming the Headship.

Treasurer_Sarah Longfield

The Treasurer oversees the day to day financial operation of the club, and along with the President, liases with the Friends of PCBC and college authorities over capital expenditure.

Vice-President_Pippa Girling

The Vice-President is a new role assuming the responsibilities of the Social Secretary whilst also providing further assistance for the President.

Pippa is in her second year and learnt to row at Pembroke. She was one of five novices that helped the 1st Eight maintain it's spot of 3rd on the river, leaving it still in the position to challenge for this year's headship

Men's Captain_James Green

The men's captain is responsible for organising the men's side of the boat club, including coaching, training, racing and liasing with the President.

James learnt to row at the Perse School in Cambridge and came to Oxford with much prior experience of bumps racing. He will be leading the men's senior squad in their quest for Headship in Torpids and Eights.

Women's Captain_Joss Corner

Responsible for organising the women's side of the boat club, including coaching, training, racing and liasing with the President.

Joss learnt to row at Pembroke and sat at bow in last year's blade-winning W2. She will be leading the women's sqaud in their quest for blades in Torpids and the Headship in Eights.

Captain of Coxes_Chris Thursten

The Captain of Coxes looks after Pembrokes coxes throughout their career, be it when they arrive as novices to organising the upgrades for experienced coxwains.

Chris was new to coxing at Pembroke and successfully inspired the women of W2 to blades at Eights.

Men's Vice Captian_Paul Hinds

Vice's tend to take charge of novice boats, organising training, coaches and sharing of river times. Working with their coaches and their other sex counterpart they are a good source of conflict resolution over equipment and timing clashes down on the river.

Paul is a 4th year engineer and a previous editor of the Cherwell and is keen to see the 3rd VIII reclaim its headship, and bring about victory in Christ Church Regatta

Women's Vice Captain_Emma Puttock

A second year chemist and another member of the W2 crew, Emma is keen to start coaching and set up the year with a fantastic Christ Church.

Secretary_Rachel Drake

The secretary takes charge of organising committee meetings and chasing up other committee members ensuring they remember all their jobs. Essential to the smooth running of PCBC.

Rachel, yet another member of last year's W2, is a second year modern linguist.
